To be fair it seems to change almost daily. With the fish running late they aren't hanging around. You find them good one day and they are gone the next. The Big Bank is a nursery ground where migratory fish move thru. If there's lots of bait they hang around for a day or two before moving. If you don't find them you get the pinners. I try and find the depth the movers are in the water column and keep a rod there. Saturday it was 90 ft for me, no bait showing just a few fish on the screen

If you ever get to Ukee, go to the Pioneer Marine store and buy some crap and look at the chart. Most of the spots are marked on there.
Use the Navionics Web App on your computer to look around. Some of the spots have names that match the contour lines on a standard chart. You should be able to find a turtle head, rat's nose, and starfish. Some of the others have names based on who knows what, commercial trolling maybe and are less obvious, South West Corner and Outside South, for example. If you can't find Wya point, Cree Island and Swale rock, then you should stay home.

The bad news in the report is the upriver brights only 270,000 of the 613,840 Leaves little for sport after the nets take

Coworker just came back said he had some of the great fishing off shore Sunday morning . Said coho were so thick they were nailing the rigger clips on the way up. Fast Limits with catch and release for chinook. 4.5 Irish Cream spoon, Green Glow hoochies and Bait. Biggest chinook 20#

It's a little late report but was up at ukee last weekend.

Fished big bank last Thurs. Didn't find the one fire fishing, but did great on halis trolling. We ended up with 2 Springs 8, 12 lbs and 2 15 lb halls, but a nice 71lb 125cm thick one hit the brown turd on the troll.

Took Friday off for family time and back out Saturday to Wya to try to find some slabs. Pretty slow until we got into flo Bay and saw the squid in the shallows. Ended up with a 12, 15, 17 and 22 once we started dragging some white turds.

I must say I do enjoy the fishing better close to shore in shallow working structure and bait balls compared to dragging who knows what up from the depths in the middle of nowhere where fleet at big bank.

Next week.... Shearwater. Excited for that trip!

Lots of action but not Tyee fishing yet we still have all August though and early September. Action wise fishing is great, if your a Tyee hunter the big ones aren't here yet I'm thankful for what's happening now, some of you should work on being more thankful not only for what's being caught now but also the limits we have here on the coast. Once some of you apply that approach to fishing then try applying that to the rest of your life you will be a happier person

I am greatfull for all opprtunity we have have on the coast, and tale full advantage of it, i spend a lot of time on the water inshore and offshore.i guess i just like it when people call it the way it is.i bin there when its on fire,(big boys and lots of them)and when it got posted it was not, some people fire is more like a candle in the wind lol, Btw fishing is good very good just not stellar like it can be, hope they just around the corner and will light ukee on fire soon

Good call Ukie charters! Freezer fills up for the year on non tyee just the same except takes a little more fishing. Awe too bad!! Going again this weekend, probably not the fabulous ocean conditions we had last! See you on the water
