I was at the breakwater last week and there were multiple floater seabirds!put in a shift yesterday 5am to 1030am on the flats . not a sniff. Wonder what is killing these seabirds in our area? They eat sandlance

I saw a dead Rhino Auklet floating by near Albert Head this morning. I fished the waterfront for a few hours and only saw 1 runt spring caught. We pulled up and dropped the pick at Albert. Once the Dogs smelled the boat, they didn't stop. Nice morning on the water. Are they rhino auklets?,mostly fish eaters. Or blue foot Cassin's? Zooplankton eaters.. the latter have been washing ashore for a couple years emaciated, in high numbers.
I feel your pain Scottanother fruitless day.....
hope somebody saw some action.![]()
Fished out front again today in a derby 2 fish weighted in at 11 and 3.5 pounds respectively out of 2 dozen boats. Never saw a net out today. Very little bait or fish showing from mccallly pt thru to the breakwater. Time to go west again there seems to be a few of decent size being caught even a coho would put a smile on my face.6:30 until 11:30 at breakwater and area today. No love for me. Saw one what looked like a pink caught, nothing else with a good number of boats out in the pack.
That is all.
Tuesday at the bank for the dog show. We weeded through a few before a 24 and 52 hit. Here's a pic of me getting ready to drop the slippery 52. Note the cheering crowd..... View attachment 28561
