We had good luck at Thurston on the ebb (we picked up 2 springs, 2 hatch coho, 1 wild coho released, 2 good strikes that were probably springs), and there was a few at Greensea on the flood (we picked up 1 spring). Chatham was a zoo so we didn't put in as much time as I otherwise would have liked. Wind was ugly towards Brown's but flat calm up north.

Fished Monday afternoon and evening tried the shallow area of Fransico point got two hatchery coho saw no signs of bait until we went north of the green can however the bait was at least 200 ft down no keepers we are hearing that the Browns Bay area has been producing have yet to fish that area much for Salmon will try on the weekend hopefully will post some springs.
Fished the green can yesterday evening. It was a little lumpy and managed to catch and release a couple under size Chinook. Tried fishing deep, around 200 - 250 feet on the riggers and picked up a couple of hake. We kept two as a bit of a taste test. I am sure they are not prized for there meat but does anyone have info on them. The regulations associate them with the codfish species.

Thanks, those recipes look and sound delicious. I was a little unsure about the hake but now I look forward to trying it.

They are a big item in the UK but then the Brits are not much better than the Japanese when it comes to liking just about any seafood!!

Fished Browns bay and green sea for a day n a half. Winds were crazy. Buddy got so drunk he fell in the water caught a few 10-15 pound springs

Went out for the evening troll at the green can, lost one coho and picked up a nice 18 pound white spring. Army truck coyote spoon for both.Another algae bloom out there, water is brown

Had a pretty good day of fishing at Grants Reef yesterday. Consistent action all day jigging Shimano Butterfly Jigs around the 3 pinnacles on the NE corner of the reef. 140-200' seem seem be home best. Nice pockets of bait being pushed up against those pinnacles. For those that have not made the run across, it took about 25 min from Playgrounds.

Campbell River RCMP have said 40 downriggers stolen in the area the past 2 weeks. From boats stored at houses/shops/garages and marinas. Just a heads up there's a crew out there working campbell river area.
Can anyone post an update for the Nodales Channel - Thurston Bay - Hall Point - Denham Bay area?

Talked to a couple guys at the marina caught a couple big boys at denham, didn't see or hear much in noodles but Chatham point has been hot latley.

Got a nice 14 pound white spring today off the hump, trolling at 270 feet trying to catch a halibut. Green/blue hootchie
