20' Sangster - Pod and outboard

I'm looking at a used 20' Sangster hardtop that currently has inboard power. I'd like to re-power with an outboard on a pod. Anyone have any experience with o/b and pod on a Sangster? What sort of hp would I need for this?

Have you carefully checked the all stringers on that boat?

Because Sangsters haven't been made for a long, long time now.
