Islands west is rough to say the least. With low expectations, it's fine. Closer to the harbour entrance and floating structures to tie up to. The launch is crap at low tide. You can launch at the public launch but it is a shallow launch bring an extension if you have one. It has free parking but not secure. Islands west vehicle and trailer parking is a pain and $, but more securish.I am planning a trip to Ucluelet in the next few weeks. I am looking for a motel with a marina kind of place. I will be bringing my boat so need a place that has a Marina where I can moor my boat. Was looking at Island West Resort but the reviews don't sound very good. Does anyone have any experience at this place? Or know of a similar place in Ucluelet? TIA.
This is a good option for spring trips. Government dock in the summer doesn't typically work, but you will find room (not likely rafted) in May. I'm on the dock now and there's a half dozen empty spots (assuming your boat is around 30' or down)I have stayed at West Coast Motel and the Government dock is across the street. Clean rooms and prices weren't bad.
I recommend staying at the Bayshore Waterfront Inn (next to Island West). Moor your boat at the Island West dock - it’s a short stroll to the Bayshore from the dock - or drive to the dock in the morning.I am planning a trip to Ucluelet in the next few weeks. We are also staying at island west that weekend, see you there! Thanks for the advice everyone. I ended up booking at Island West Resort May 17-21. I know it's not the nicest but hopefully we can make due. Has everything we need.
Also from Lumby. We stay at island west too. It’s a dive but you’ll be spending most of your time in your boat anyways. Not sure how long you’ll be there but take your mountain bikes. We’ve had better times and able to do and see more since we started taking ours with us.Thanks for the advice everyone. I ended up booking at Island West Resort May 17-21. Will do, I’m in an old sea ray, we will be in the rv at the tip of the waterfront sites. We were up there a few weeks ago, Hali and Lingcod was on fire, hoping a few more salmon start showing up!Nice. Come by and say hi. My boat is the one in my profile picture.

LoL, hey if you wanna come down you’re more than welcomed to, I’ve done this before its easy, hop on the second last ferry, drive to Ukee, sleep in your truck, 6am fish, load up the cooler with fish, drive back in the afternoon…TFTI

Or you can bunk up with the dog for the night!
I’m in town by the arena. If you know where Turk and Renis live, I’m the last house on the street. Swing by anytime. Worse that can happen is I’m not home.Im in Cherryville. Sugar Lake Road. Thanks for the advice.
Not much fog until the air temperature increasesThat sounds terrible! Lol
