Yamaha getting out of snowmobile business.

I saw this on a snowmobile page.

It’s a sad day for the snowmobile industry. Thank you Yamaha for the support and smiles over the years. The Apex, SRX, Viper, Sidewinder, Vmax and many more models will live in our hearts forever

are any of the engines crossovers to other types of craft or use?

Not sure if any crossover with Yamahas. I’m fairly certain they don’t on skidoos which I’m more familiar with

I imagine Yamaha was waiting for four stroke snowmobiles to become mandatory and it just hasn’t happened yet.

I agree, they put all the eggs in the 4-stroke basket and unlike outboards the 2-stroke world is still strong in sleds!

Can’t beat the sound of a two stroke sled piped out highmarking or a dirtbike wound out through the forest. I’m such a two stroke junky I had my firewood saw Walkerized just so I could grin while cutting up a couple cords of wood
