This article has lots of pics and info:
You know I don't usually think my life is particularly improved by dumb Florida multimillionaires but I suddenly realize that if not for a bunch of retired baseball players to blow half a million bucks on a bunch of untested motors with lots of technology that's still in the testing phase, these things couldn't ever make it to market, and ultimately make a bunch of the technology they contain into mainstream stuff I might one day own.

So thanks, guys barely making it out of Haulover in moderate seas on 40 foot centre consoles. Please buy four of these each so the rest of us can find out if rotating lower units under fixed powerheads is the way of the future.

Having that seam for lower end to pivot down at the water line seems like issues waiting to happen.
I don't know if anyone here would know offhand but has that been an issue on the pod drives?

If so, then I bet these are troublesome in the exact same way; if not, maybe they've worked it out?

I don't know, I had the same reaction but ZF is making the lower, so I'm guessing that the sealing will have the same problems or lack thereof, but I have no idea how they've been on that score.

Two gears also... shifts once up on step. Maybe they’ll make it in a stick shift! :pLot of moving parts thats for sure!

With those new electric motor torque controls I think we'll see electric outboards make huge strides soon.

Azi pods have been around a LONG time. Cruise ships and ferries seem to find them economical. Not sure that converts into consumer market but it’s not like it’s new tech

While some of those features seem unusual i can say thru personal experience that those motors have been extensively tested before they hit the market

Wow quite the machines, and people think we are going electric in this world lol.
