Why is the water so green around southern B.C.?

Sooke Basin, back in July, looked like a glacier fed lake. It's still very green.

The algae snot collecting on the lines in June at times made it unfishable in places it was so thick. There was so much collecting on the down rigger lines it was tripping the auto stop. I've never seen it that bad before everything was just covered in nasty thick goop. Between that and the jellyfish it was impossible to keep your lines clean. It was like fishing in pea soup in some places.

It's reacting to the affects the many many Fish Farms on the coast ...... The Green color is a stage of Decomposition.
