Any conditions or issues that one should be aware of running Whiterock Passage or is it even possible? North west end of Read Is.
26' fishing boat.

Thanks,

hell ya! make sure you do it at atleast a mid tide... i used to run it in a 14' at low tide just to get to know the exact route.. i cant remember the name of the markers that you have to line up ahead and behind as you pass through but they are tricky... tide change and low speed can make it harder as you get pushed off your course in what feels like a a 20' wide trench with boulders on all sides... it had taken a few years before i was confident enough to run it on plane. be careful.

Good info! Thanks.

You'll be absolutely fine. I've done it many times in a crew boat and regularly in a commercial prawn boat when I fished a season in that area. Line up the ranges and you're good to go. There's one set as you enter and then you look aft and match up the second as you exit.

Stage of tide and tidal current shouldn't be an issue either. Maybe if it's an extreme low don't go through but any normal tide and you'll be fine.
