Where to fish late April

Might have a free weekend on April 26-27th to go fishing with a buddy.
What are some suggestions on where to go. Would be taking my Campion Explorer 185

Fishing in toba inlet in april is good. Prawning too. Its also beautiful there too. 1 hour 45 min run from Campbell River.

Barkley Sound can be good at that time. Bamfield has all the necessities. Good prawning, good salmon, good bottom fishing. Lots of protected water. Toba can be gnarly in the early season. Outflows can be very dangerous and are a little unpredictable.

Yes Sydney area you can retain slot sized fish. Not worth it for me coming from Vancouver until Lings open though. Tough time of year.

Chinook should be decent fishing but likely non-retention. (Who knows?) Halibut is open with max size 102cm. per day.

Chinook should be open April/May for 1 hatchery a day

Lings open in may in our area, theres morroage in toba, but fuel is outside of toba in lewis channel or around Sonora, or of course Campbell if your returning there each day.
