What is the best?

What is the best time to be in Port Renfrew area. I am looking into a trip for next year and want to catch the big coho and springs and want to know if the second half of July is best or which part of August to go. If you had 2 weeks to go play when would it be in that area?

IMHO... for springs? the week of August 14th?
For Coho...(which I do not target), somethime probably in late September?
Again, IMHO!

Anyone have any thoughts? This is a trip I will not be able to do often and I am saving my pennies to do it. I want to make the best of it.

July is almost over, and the shoreline is the sh*ts. Usually July/August/First two weeks of Sep is prime time, but it depends. If you have a rig that can go offshore to Swiftsure, then whenever is best, for shoreline fishing, pick a weekend with some moderate tides and go anytime in August.

I've been going for a full week in early/mid August for several years now and the fishing is pretty good over the period. Some days HOT!! A few years back first set of the trip--just barely got the wobbly pops open and wham! Double header off Camper got them both in in the twenties. Will be there Aug 9--be prepared for fog though--one trip we never did see shore outside the bay[|)]
