I feel better knowing that others are spending $2000 on fuel. The seasonal campsite was $1000 plus moorage. Another expense not mentioned was fish ice each weekend (around $150).
I thought this would be an interesting thread. While we sportfishermen are fractured in our organization - compared to the "special interests" - we are not fractured when it comes to our spending habits. I know enough about business to realize that we contribute WAY more to the economy than the provincial and federal governments realize.
As a saltwater sportfishermen, what type of money did you spend this year on:

This really starts to add up when you list it all out. Us sportsfishers spend a lot of dough in the local economy.
We need to have a more widespread, statiscally accurate survey and analysis done to show the real impact we have on the economy. I think it is very underrated/stated IMO. With this data we could get more local business support for our cause.

I invested about $1,500.00. The return, if you can appreciate real value, is an easy $500,000.00, based upon my happiness and satisfaction, as well as memories which I will cherish for years to come. Bragging rights are worth the other $500,000.00 in my estimation.
