What Did You Do To Your Boat This Week?

Well, I had 2 of 4 batteries getting a tad on the older side (4 years), and while they take a full charge they seem to draw down faster than I recall. So I purchased a decent battery tester that was capable of load testing. After a few cycles of charge/test the 2 older units failed the load tests every time (despite showing 13 volts). So, down to Costco for 2 new batteries - just can't take the chance they will leave me high and dry 25 miles offshore this coming season. Here's a photo showing the Ancel tester - its pretty slick.

Can you get Interstates at Costco?

Great looking boat.

So.... are you going to go back now and write a build thread.

Every build thread is great advertising for the builder and helps keep the Forum hopping

WELL took a bit after discovering a rat had got into my boat and chewed a bit of wiring we had to fix but to be honest was very lucky as all that really got wrecked was the old CD stereo...so installed a new bluetooth BOSS system thanks to amazon...
The radar unit and interphase went well everything was ok had to drill new holes as the old JRC 1500 and these mountig holes didnt line up even remotly close a bit of clue wooden dowl and gel coat covered it up all good its under the unit the other fix job you see was a siruis radio thing...
and yes I like to 2 head unit set up makes it easy....

Replaced the bronze in-line ball valve for my raw water washdown pickup because the handle had rusted and seized on the old one. I had to go to defender.ca to find one with a stainless steel handle so that doesn’t happen again.

Then I took out my old Scotty receptacles and replaced them with new ones. I also replaced the male ends on the downriggers while I was at it.

Then I put the grate back in that sits on the two main stringers in my hatch to keep my traps and gear off the bilge pumps and shoot-through transducer. I followed that up with a quick mold remover spray all around inside the hatch below decks and a thorough rinse.

I’m almost ready to take the covers off and get out there for the last two weeks of Chinooking 😁

already done . and ive taken her out a few times I like the stand alone better as i have on the 12 gps / depth and now radar on I have it set for 1/4 mile and seems right on showing me the bouys and even picked up a lil 8 foot punt with no problem so i guess the angle is perfect

I’m curious how you handled the yellow wire on both the radar and the mfd. did you use them, why or why not. I’m having trouble wrapping my mind around what is best for power management. I don’t want the radar to come power on when battery switch is on.

We wired it to a empty toggle swith on my fuse panel on the dash thats light up when on very easy to see and use. that was our brainstorm and I do like it as Like you dont always want it on... hope that helps

This is what I’m going to do.
Option 1: Auto-Sync (Recommended)
Action
: Join the yellow wire from the
GO9 XSE power cable to the yellow wire from the Halo 20 power cable.
Result: When you turn on your GO9 plotter, the Halo 20 radar will automatically enter standby mode. When you turn the plotter off, the radar will also shut down.

That's what I did. Works fine.

Have seen a slight oil sheen on the water after launching so figured the seals on both power tilt units were showing their age. Switched out the main and kicker units for the spares I’ve had tucked away for many years. Nice when you can do preventive repairs without tapping the bank account.
