What Did You Do To Your Boat This Week?

For sure, the other little tip the mechanic gave me was was whatever you do be super careful not to drop one of those nuts into the top end of the engine, otherwise you have to take the entire top end apart which is no small task
That’s interesting as the water pressure valve on my DF250 is located on the starboard side of the engine below the oil pan under the side chaps on the mid section.

I was a bit dismayed the other day to see that my boat was starting to develop mold where the tarp covers the dance floor. Last year I just hung a tarp right over the sloping canvas cover but the canvas cover got mold spots on it. This year I thought I’d store the canvas and just cover with the tarp but the condensation on the inside of the tarp is an issue.

On my son’s recommendation I bought this mold control product called Concrobium. I sprayed it around the affected areas, wiped up some of the worst spots then sprayed on another fine mist and left it for a few days. Yesterday when I climbed in to fire up the Wallas heater for a few hours like I do a few times per month, I was pleasantly surprised to discover no more signs of mold. I’ll see how it works for the rest of the winter but so far I'm a fan.

Thanks for the link. I'm gonna give it a try

Boat back from the shop this week. I’ve invested about 1.5 boat units so far this winter 😬. The projects continue.

I’m through most of my wish list bringing this 1994 Explorer upto date with current equipment & power. Things got expensive two years ago and had to cut the spending. This year, I had to knock off the last of the big projects.

Brand new fuel tanks and sending units! Last year one tank developed a leak. Nice and shiny down below now.

Cockpit re-gel coated and anti skid resurfaced.

Brand new kicker and control. Matchy.

Now I need to cover it up and give it a good wash and wax in the spring. Bring on the summer!

Picked up our new boat a couple of weeks ago. Custom boat built at Cooks Marine in the Duncan area. 18 x 8'6
Have spent time getting the final little things done; DR bases installed, plotter mounts/electrical and transducer all set up.
Lots to do still of course but very happy with it! Thanks to many members I messaged asking advice from with aluminum CCs.
She is ready for us to take out and start to break in the motor.
