Well we are half ways through another season and it has been a grind. June started off with wave after wave of pacific frontal systems and bone chilling temperatures.. Our inside fishing in Kano Inlet was strong with the majority of our bigger fish being caught close to home..
With the arrival of July, came warmer temps. but the fishing dropped off dramatically. We have not seen any of the traditionally spots go off at all, meaning another ten miles to Freeman when the weather allows.. The fishing there has been insane with days of countless hookups. The bait has been 300 ft. thick at times, hence the awesome fishing.
Halibut seems to be in shorter supply this season as well with our smaller fish being a concern..
There is a large coho opening covering the northern half of the west side, so again, we have not really seen a large presence from them either..
Lets hope Aug. holds a little more promise closer to home..
Tight lines-dirty
