Well just returned from a stint to the Gwaii.. Nothing short of phenomenal on the fishing front.. Strong pushes of fish on every tide made for some spectacular days..
Reports were mixed throughtout the season from all area's with the best being the westside consistantly.. Talking to d.f.o from time to time brought reports of above average returns from hippa to englefield all season.. With the great returns cames some larger fish which can prove to be difficult to come by due to the vast area that is not covered well.
As for halibut, the same with what seemed to be better numbers of big girls showing up regularly... The coupes were chalked full of chickens throughout the season.
Water temps. seemed to be consistantly stable with no major fluctuations like seasons past.. Strong tides seemed to persist longer than usual during august, which may have contributed to the temps. maintaining a decent level.. All in all nothing but positive for 06'.-cheers dirty
