Welded Aluminum Boat Build - Q's needing answers

Carrying the reverse chine all the way to the bow I believe is more a design parameter of a hull, and not the definition of a reverse chine. The reverse chine on the 2050 ends further aft than on a Bridgeview. It does have two strakes per side that run fairly far forward which may help with spray, but it is almost certainly a wetter ride than a Bridgeview. Trade-off may or may not be in a softer ride..... it's all a trade off.

Just for the sake of clarity, here is a back view for the bow -to-stern reverse chine on a BV 18. You saw the entry already.

The gunnels are hollow and open bottomed so they eventually drain out to the deck - which is self draining. The rod holders have a solid rod welded across the bottom which limits how far the handle will go in.

That's a good idea. I was thinking about fabricating rocket launcher type attachment and putting on the rear of my bait table, but right in the gunnel looks very clean.
