"weather tight" vs "water tight" hatches

Looking to replace some 13x23 cockpit deck hatches, and seeing in Western and Land & Sea that some hatches are "weather tight" and some are "water tight".

Google is saying that weather tight hatches/doors are designed to withstand water pressure from one side (the outside), and water tight hatches/doors are designed to withstand water pressure from both sides.

Given that these are cockpit hatches and above waterline - assuming I'm okay with weather tight? Hatches store batteries (2 main 1 house) and oil reservoir. So need them to stay dry on inside.

TIA for help.

Looking at either of these hatches, which are both weather tight:

If you get into trouble and get swamped with water and do not want them to fill with water then I would go with watertight. If not, weather tight can do but may not keep water out if exposed to water for longer periods.
