That's the point, they'll hit anything offshore.

I was just joking with Richmake btw - I fish anchovy 99% of the time inshore - offshore its not necessary, the fish are so aggressive anyway.

found this little beauty quote on another site though FM

stick to vancouver pal, it suits you [:X][:X]

Wanted to say hi to everyone,Been awhile.Anyone ever use strip herring with the les davis holder anymore, suppose to resemble the sand lance.Or the pt.defiance spoon.Iv'e seen a lack of quality in the Coyote spoon, not all seem to run the same .Anyone notice anything or is it my imagination.

I can let you know how a Herring works out there!!!!

It went somthing like this...

"Holly **** look at how much line he's peeling off... Holly **** look at the size of that thing... Holly **** he's running again... Wahhhoooooo 45+#'r"

I have had success out there on a hootchie though my ol Boss "made" me fish with one, we limited on springs and halibut. I gotta admit it was fun not knowing what you were going to bring up.

I think it was an LP-B1 clear.

Take only what you need.

Poppa Swiss...very good! :)

I've fished the coast over in all kinds of weather and locations as a guide...and I've yet to see a properly prepared and presented bait "not work" when there are fish around. However, I've seen all kinds of plastic and metals not work ...

Poppa Swiss limits his catch every time...he's never been skunked..and Poppa Swiss can make his hootchies catch by just wiggling his nose... :)

Anyways Poppa, we'll see you on the water.... :D...and I'll be jaggin' out right along side you!

:D

In 1995, when I was guiding for Eagle Pointe Lodge on Wales Is. at the bottom of the Alaska Panhandle, I would regulary troll with 4 lines stacked on two downriggers.

I would run two baits, usually herring, and two hootchies. I would put one of each on the top lines and one of each on the bottom lines on both sides so as to mix it up depth wise.

Quite often I would have days where the bait caught all the fish. And just as often, sometimes the very next day, the imitations would catch all the fish. Wish I could tell you WHY this happened. Just luck of the draw I guess.

That top one looks like something I use all summer. Great lakes special. Lengthen the leader and put them behind a hotspot instead of a dodger and you have lure that will compete with most hootchies.
They come in about 50 color combinations and so far everyone I have tried has worked great. I wonder what's next

FD, you got my all time favorite there.......nothing like a TURD - it catches everybody.

Good Mornin Boy's

Kelly , Typically 42. in. Does the trick for us. My Go To , specially for Hali !! , Load the Inside upwith glow beads,3/8 in.( Correction , 1/2 inch. ) to your hook , I think 4 or 5 , I also place a scent spunge in ,between beed 4 and 5 , the action of the current and whip , squeezes the spunge ,occasionally, nice trail of scent , "In Theory " again , works for us !! soak it up with Ur choice of scent !! SMelly Jelly Pastes , is my choice

Later , ... FD..:)
