Water Temp

Was fishing off Quatsino today and noticed that the water was 55.6-55.9 degrees. Fished Port McNeill yesterday and it was 49 in the harbour and 50 on the back side of Malcom Island.

Does the warmer water affect the fish movements much? I know all about El-Nino and that stuff, but was quite surprised by the temp difference from inside to outside.

Is the warmer water all the way down the west coast?

On the US board, the guys are getting all geared up for the tuna, but the temps are not there yet.

Cheers

side note sitka...how was fishing at malcolm?

Do you really want to know......?

I had big expectations after all the springs getting caught in Hardy and big tides this week.....but it was not to be. I knew of no one who caught a fish. There was very little feed around and no fish liked my offereing, hence the reason I went west:D

I will get a better report tomorow when I talk to a couple of guys who fish it very hard.
