Wassup up in Sooke?

Sounds like you had a good day!
Interesting that your fish were white. Ours too and the other 1 spring that I saw at the dock. I will start a new post on this one.

I camped in Renfrew Fri-Sun. Dropped by the marina on Sat. Lots of Coho and chicken butts. Quite a few springs around 20lb but did not see anything big. Report was Springs in close and tons o' coho at the bank.

There were lots of springs offshore near swiftsure (more than the shore) but if you didn't go DEEP then you wouldn't even know it. Sometimes it took 4 or 5 attempts to get your line down without a coho hammering it out of the clip! But I'm not complaining....the coho were a riot! And LOTs of hatcheries. Had to constantly re-tie the gear to keep it ready for the springs.

I heard possesion was good and secretary as well ill be out fri and the weekend keep you all informed but i bet it wont be as good as up near knights guests left with there limits then caught the guides fish as well lots of fun!!!!!!

Just back from Otter and Sheringham and 2 pinks, saw 1 fish caught about #12 and heard on the radio 3 others caught.Nothing at Sheringham, but it was suuny and hot out there.Probably out tomorrow and then to Renny for the weekend,

Dragged bait around for a few hours before dark last night between the shack and Donaldson. Nothing to report on my boat and never even saw a net raised. Hopefully Saturday will be better.

Was out today got 4 fished sec. and possesion bit snotty though out again tommorow let you all know

Good luck Wolf

Yes 22 to 15 lbs all shallow 40 to 60 ft.

Just finished talking to most of the guides about today heard of a guy that got 6 springs on the ebb at otter(?????????) biggest was a 26, 2 of the other guides got 3 at trap each but then 2 other guides got skunked, seems to me there are small pockets of fish moving through and if your there youll get them. Stick and stay at a spot i suppose worked for me today!!!!!!!

Good luck Wolf

Wow Wolf, You must be fishing with a longer pole than the rest of us...good job! The trap produced a few for some on thursday and Friday, we brought two in the boat, all just before dark, one 12# the other was 19#. Then the trap turned on around 10am on Friday morning and we managed two more 23# and another around 13#. Saw a couple more caught in right tight, and a cannonball lockup between two boats provided some entertainment. Yup it's looking like Sooke again!!! Uncle Roy give me shout at work...

I told myself I wasn't going to check the board while I am out here in Nova Scotia but I couldn't help it. The mackeral fishing is hot, boys, right off my brother in law's dock. I watched 2 of the locals catch 3 or 4 in short order this am. My sister in law wanted to know if I wanted to give it a try. No thanks,I said, where I come from we call that bait! Gotta say the lobster tastes good tho and the beer is nice and cold.

Got out for the first time by myself...too foggy and snotty for me to head out around the head, so I just ran infront of the farm north of Aldridge. Ended up landing a 20, losing maybe a mid 20's at the boat (not exactly easy trying to land by yourself in a tin boat with a long leader - had one shot at it with the net, ran off and broke the leader seconds after). Happy I managed the 1 seeing how the wind was playing hovoc. Had another hit as well but he didn't stay to play. Not a bad few hours in the early afternoon seeing that the conditions limited me to one rod. Another couple of guys in a tin boat also landed a 40 in the same area.....board also says a 50 was taken in the morning at the shack.

I think the big fish are finally showing themselves again.

GAME ON FOR SURE GOT SOME NICE ONES IN THE AFTERNOON AS WELL.

I want to catch salmon. Up here near nanaimo its slow as always. Ive sorta given up for salmon but a 17 and 30 unconfirmed were caught at my tiny marina today. So i may give it another try.

Real foggy Saturday, thank god for my Lowrance but we stuck to our game plan on Saturday and managed a 25 and a 13 off Otter as well as losing another nice one. Definately spotty for us though and it seemed like the long flood in the afternoon helped us out a bit.

Got tired of watching wolf and his guests landing fish and finally caught our first fish at 1:45.
