Wanted - Old Yellow Peetz Rod in good condition

I was given a nice 6” Peetz reel as a housewarming gift and it looks brand new. New line on it. I’d like to get an old rod to match it. Preferably the old yellow ones. We’re those made by Peetz as well? I’m willing to pick up in the lower mainland. I’d like to have a working old school set up to use.

side note, can anyone guess the era of this reel based on the box and logo on the reel?

You can have this rod for $50

or I have a 9’ brown ‘Rivers Inlet’ trolling rod of similar vintage that is quite a bit stouter.
I am using more modern rods for my Peetz now that I upgraded the drags to one-way.

Adam at the Peetz factory told me those stickers on the brass were only used in 1977 and 1978 before they ran out of them
Crazy. I figured it was from the late 90’s because of the sticker. But the box looks old for sure.

I’d be interested in that. But where abouts are you located?

What are the handles made of wood or plastic .The really old ones were wood.

Klee Wick rods (Parksville) are made by the original builder of the Peetz rods. (He retired to Parksville). I bought one last year for my 1975 Peetz reel. BTW, they're the original yellow...

Thanks for the info. I checked the website and he has cork handles now. I think it would be nicer to have the old wood grips. I’ll be patient and keep looking for a good one. Don’t mind paying a premium for a nice old Peetz. It’s all about the nostalgia

I have a nice one here - were you looking for one with the roller guides or the ceramic type guides? - i think i have both - i can post photo later today?

I got one coming tomorrow so I should be good. Thanks for the offer though.

Thanks to @Sliver09 for bringing the rod over to the mainland. It looks great and can’t wait to give it a spin.
