Tips Up

Well-Known Member
After adding bush racing stripes and a dent in front bumper from a cross ditch on my new daily driver I am now looking for a hunting vehicle/ off roader for weekends

Could be a tracker or Tacoma or ??
Something for logging roads, spur roads and light off roading.

Ideally something with lift and larger tires or priced to modify.

Lmk what you got or what you see.

Thanks.

Where abouts are you? There's a Jeep YJ at my cabin that the guy wants $1500 or so. Needs rear shocks. Near Princeton, BC

I'm in Victoria. Something on the island would be ideal. Could go as far as Vancouver.
Looking for something a bit nicer than these options. No frame rust. No mechanical issues.

Thanks!

I'd look for something like a high mileage / cheap RAV4 and then gut the interior. Not the best true off-load vehicle, but totally fine for logging roads.

Alternatively - If you want something a bit more heavy duty I'd checks out any cheap/high mileage 4Runner V8 or Lexus GX470 (same basic vehicle). These have locking Diffs and low range (although not always working at that age) and the V8 is considered one of the best/most reliable ever made.

This Tundra would also be great - but watch out for rust. They all rust, and liberal application of fluid film goes a long way, just don't buy something without taking a screwdriver to the frame. Lots of rusted out Alberta Tundras make their way over and are sold to unwary BC buyers

If you can stretch your budget a bit, this is a phenomal deal on an old Tundra with relatively low mileage. The white paint is notorious on this generation of Toyota for peeling - so not a beauty queen, but this is a great truck, great motor.

Edit - disregard, RWD not 4x4
