voyage to Hardy

We are planning to travel to Hardy from Vancouver on the weekend. Hopefully for Halibut. Marine reports are a little dicey, what are waters like? How is Queen Charlotte Sound or Johnstone Strait?

Would anybody else head out on the weekend to Hardy?

Not sure what size tub your running up there, however i've run my 24 ft a number of times from C.R to Port Mcneill. If your real worried about it kicking up plan to run early, and be on the look out for lots of junk in the water.

Try to be near Mittlenatch Island (south of Campbell River) at high slack and you can ride the tide the whole trip.
The fish are starting to show.

I'll be out there Saturday for sure...possibly Sunday...Ms. Heather II (or III...depending on what boat we choose to take out). Usually on 68 when not monitoring 16.
