volvo duoprop

[Degree of Freedom]

.Anybody have a guess at what a 1997 volvo penta 4.3L (carb) with a duoprop leg is worth? Engine was rebuilt last year, leg is solid but has cosmetic flaws.
The reason I'm asking...it's on an old boat I found down South that I'd like to purchase and throw a pod on. Just working out the financials with my wife[:I]. If I could get a decent price for the engine/drive it would an easier sell with the boss

Parts for those are brutally expensive if that matters.

Rebuilt or not is not really worth a diddly, but I think you should get a couple grand for the whole setup at least.

If the leg and engine really are solid, you could probably get $3500 realistically. A rebuilt DP-D1 leg itself is worth 4000$

thanks Dave...if this ends up happening, I'll be needing a good mechanic. Met you at the chumfest (drank a few brews on the back of my buddies boat Sunday afternoon).
