Looking to slip my boat (30' LOA) this summer between april and september. Anyone with some good leads on moorage.....PM me... greatly appreciated!

If anyone wants to post marina's to look out for or avoid, appreciated as well!
Same goes for marina's worth referring!

Preferred location would be a marina or slip coming out of the arms of the Fraser River, but open to what may be available.
 
Fisherman's Wharf False creek (false creek harbour authority) has a new classification for working boats and a new rate.
Sport Fishing Guide boats , water taxi's ,whale watcher boats etc. will get a discount from the old pleasure craft rate.
There is good 24 hr security , parking, good docks, wi/fi ,showers and lockers. All right beside Granville island between the bridges.
 
Ya, gotta a feeling that recent "burial ground" uprising has slowed things a bit. I heard from a good source though that its going to go ahead. It'll sell out in no time. Who wouldn't proceed.

Also heard from a very good source......it IS going ahead.
 
Website says available June 1, so just 4 months away.
Says under construction, its right behind my office bulding according the map, I'll go take a look next time I'm there.

I registered a long time ago, havent heard from them.
 
Hmm interesting info on the new marina guys.

I may have found a slip along the arms. Price is fair at about $10 a foot for apr-sept, taxes, power, and water included. I can't say exactly where as space is limited and I don't need to be lurked and scooped! Good location, secure...it sounds pretty good. I may have to contend with an adjacent river flow but other than that I may go for it....this is my first time doing this sort of thing so I'd be interested to hear if this sounds reasonable or not?

J-Global, please give us an update as to what you see. I would be curious of its current state of development.

I noticed reading that those who have registered and are selected to get a drystack or moorage space, or subject to an annual contract. I see nothing about bi-annual contracts. I also tried clicking contact/registration and I get a "Page Not Found" prompt.
 
Moorage I have found in Vancouver is annual. On the river it may be different, but, Milltown is definitely annual. BTW, no way that place is going to be done by June unless they're building it somewhere else and plan to drag docks and buildings in up the river.

FB.....I will let you know what I can ASAP as I know one of the individuals who is a principal involved with the project. Was talking to him about it back in early December but haven't inquired with him since.

That'd be swell Pippen thanks. If you are inquiring, ask about the lengths listed for their dry stack moorage. My hull is 24.5' but with the pod, motor, and pulpit I'm pushing just over 30'. So my hull length fits the drystack specs, but my LOA does not. If you can drum up an answer, that would be sweet!

Hey FB.....I have asked him about the LOA of 30' and will see if he knows. He is involved in this development as he will be be their main tennant.....owns a very large full service yacht facility/shipyard. Now that I have spoken with him I don't believe he is necessarily part of the ownership group but with what he is looking for there he is actively involved with the developers.

Just if people are wondering construction continues with a target date of opening for June 1rst. There will be 200 dry rack spaces inside a building.

It depends what the in/out hours are and how much you'll use your boat.

One thing for sure though is during the freshet you'll be happy you boat isn't in the water-the **** that comes roaring down the river @ that time has to be seen to be believed.
 
Hey Nick try to get into buarrd civic, we have a good crew who all fish out of there. Close to all the spots as well.
 
Milltown just sent me their contract for dry stack as well. Its about the same cost as Burrard Civic. Usually Burrad Civic starts having vacancies in March/early April. Personally I believe dry stack is the better option. Never have to paint boat and worry about it taking on water if you're away for a while, but, Burrard Civic is much better located to get out to fishing grounds and for quick family trips and probably will save on fuel burn. Overall I'd say its the better choice.

Over all you say Burrard is a better choice? I kept my boat there for 2 days to help out my bro with my trailer to work on a customers boat within 2 days my boat was brown and growing algi on it. The most dicusting thing I have seen. Lol . The boats gotta come out once a month to clean or your lose fuel economy with the extra drag lol. I like the dry storage idea ONLY if its no hour limit. I don't now how much stuff grows on the river but what takes me a month in a half when I go to port hardy takes 2 days in burrard lol. It took me 2 hours to clean and spray to get the crap off and get my white gel coat back. 15 years ago when I kept my first boat by science world I don't remember that happening. . I guess you get use to it after a while but man it sure grossed me out lol . I never want to paint the bottom of my boat and if you don't know how to clean and get the white back people just paint.
