Vancouver Island MPA fishing closures? Get involved now!

Hello guys,
I just got this and am getting you this information as we have been fighting some of the extreme environmentalists down here in Washington state. They make up their own citizen based or junk data and use it to try to stop fishing. These closures are funded by "the sky is falling mentality" and they spread the word that fisheries cannot rebound on their own. I do not know the shape of your fisheries right now, but do on your halibut.

The four major fishing organizations in Washington state have begun working together to be involved in stopping the non fishing organizations. Our Puget Sound is healing, water quality is getting better and some rockfish and truecod are actually coming back. We have a 120' line depth closure for anything other than Salmon and halibut when it is open, but yet green organizations are pushing for more and more closures. These are on top of what is already there. But the non fishing organizations are saying otherwise.

If you don't get involved, these groups will mow you over and it will happen before you know it. They stay out of the public eye. We are fighting tooth and nail down here. I just wanted to make sure you were aware of this and good luck. Take a look at what happened to California, Gulf and East Coast of the United States. Because of treaties, the tribes cannot be stopped and are excluded. I think this is one of our strongholds of stopping some of these extreme environmental groups.
Good Luck
