My boats upholstery is still in great shape but old and I had it all out while doing some fiberglass work. I've looked around and there seems to be lots of carpet cleaning places but nobody advertises that they do cushions in Victoria.Do's anyone know of a commercial place to take them,or a great home remedy to freshen them up?

Most carpet cleaners have an attachment for couches and chairs. Also auto detailers can help you out.

wait til spring, spray them with carpet cleaner and water and then power wash. the dirt that comes off is amazing

I'll call around to carpet cleaners today. The V-berth cushions etc. are fabric over foam and stapled to plywood bases,so I didn't want to soak the foam.

Getting a custom interior done on the restomod build I’m doing.. I almost **** myself when he sprayed the leather with mineral spirits.. So he took me to school on what all the pros clean leather/vinyl with. Paint thinner, mineral spirits, or varsol. That is what they all use. He mentioned it really depends on the type of contamination but a combination of steam cleaning, mild detergents like dawn, and the chemicals I listed above are all industry best practice. He said never use degreasers or bleach.

pull the staples and clean it in the washing machine then put them back together

Rent a carpet cleaner with a upholstery cleaning attachment from Home Depot. Buy some upholstery cleaner spray and spray the upholstery and wait 3 minutes. Then use the carpet cleaner upholstery cleaner tool and spray clean them as directed by the carpet cleaner directions. Once you have completed the cleaning suction method stop using the sprayer on the upholstery cleaner and just use the water suck part of the tool to remove as much water as possible. They will be still be a little wet so let them sit in a warm dry room with a fan running for a few days.
I use this method when cleaning fabric car seats in my old cars.

For vinyl/leather seats use the Starbrite type of cleaner and a cloth. For stains, I use a magic eraser, but not to much or to hard, it will discolor the vinyl or leather.

photos of back seats out of a 1966 mustang that had never been cleaned in 66 years. The white and light blue came back.
