I have a built in light in mine, but find a clip on ball cap light and/or a battery powered lantern to be more convenient.

I hard wired mine in the the camper plug, put in a two pull switch and had one strip 3/4 down and another 1/4 down. Tons of light if you needed it.

If you want a aa battery style puck light there's a ton of em. I got a 12 volt one in the foot of my v berth that's a tap style that I paid maybe $30 for at the rv store

I recently got a canopy and I had these lights sitting around for years so finally got around to installing them. They are super bright. All the wires are tucked away. The switch is mounted on the driver side right by the rear clamp.

I stuck the lights to the bed rail so they will still be there when I take the canopy off.

Nice! Install was pretty easy. Ram put holes in the bed so that you can get into the taillight compartments and run it down to the underbelly. I grounded mine near the hitch and ran the positive right to the battery instead of tapping into a wire at the back of the truck. I’m not a big fan of tapping into wires that get hit with road slime and what not

Yup for sure, I hardwired my back up camera just above the trailer ball so familiar with it for sure, great suggestion and thanks for help , tight lines and stay safe !!!

I saw a canopy that had a drill battery pack hooked up to the charger mounted to the canopy side and wired to LED lights. The battery could be removed the same way as removing it from the drill and had lots of battery time for LED lights. Think its a great idea.

after looking into the drill battery idea I see Amazon sells an adapter for your battery to slide into.

Wonder if there’s any problem running 12v lights on 18v for an extended period of time.

I use 18v batteries to test 12v and 24v items at work but I only need it for a second or two. I’d be hesitant to keep it on for minutes at a time but I’m just a glazier, not an elecchicken.

All wire looped in, cleans it up a bit , fuse at back and also 4 inch from battery incase of a short ( really didnt need one on the back but it was there haha
Loop also includes wires to cap brake light, looped em all together 20220114_152936.jpg

Looks good. Do you have a quick disconnect somewhere that I can’t see? You might want to remove the canopy at some point and not the wiring.

I had originally bought these connectors to make it a quick disconnect but I mounted the lights on the bed so I don’t need to take them off.

Good idea, I've got them but that caps on for life haha yes one is on the cap, under the wire loop but no not on the lights. The ground is in box and quick snip of power and ok to take off lol
