Transporting Boat - Questions

It's a secret

Well, it won't be a secret for long! I bet it's a Pursuit, Tiara, or Grady....especially coming from North Carolina! ;) And I'm sure we'll be fishing along side eachother quite a bit! ;) Can't wait to see it at the Dock! :)

BigHog, on a flat bed the tricky part is getting the boat/trailer on the trailer, which can be accomplished a couple of different ways. then the trailer wheels are tied down in a diaginal fashion across the bed, with the left wheels strapped to the right side, and the right wheels strapped to the left side. if your trailer is wider than the trailer bed, which i think is 8', you are out of luck. A cheap tarp properly covering the windshield and other to protect against the soot of the diesel is a good thing. I personally wouldnt hesitate to go that route vs. all the things that can happen on a tow behind scenerio. good luck. DAJ

The boat does not come with a trailer so that is why it won't work in this case. Have lined up a carrier at a reasonable price so hope all goes well. Thanks for the comments.

Secret ? oops, first I have heard this was a secret... looks like FM is correct as details of 1/2 the boat are already posted elsewhere !!! My half has one of the Yami's, half the pod and is the starboard side with helm !!! lol Also my side of hull is white with signature black pinstripe ;-)

Enjoy your new boat G & E---I thought it was likely going to be a Grady. I would assume you're going to work her? I'm going to have to pay a little more attention when hailing on the VHF... lol.

Both my boats were transported by flat bed. There is a lift at the Blaine Marina and if you slip him $100 cash he will lift it off no problem at all. In both cases I purchased a trailer to go with my boats as trailers are way, way cheaper in North Carolina than they are here. UShip was great. Would recommend using this service to locate a shipper, but as I said earlier check the feedback on the guy you are considering and make sure you do your homework to ensure they are top notch. My Grady 265 was $3,400 to ship, and she was oversize. I had quotes running from $2,600 to $5,400.

Have quotes in the 3500-4000 range now delivered to Vancouver - fair price I think. Have a buddy that just purchased a 228G in NC so we are trying to get both boats moved on the same trailer and hopefuly save more money on shipping.
