Anyone know what happened to the big rig that come off the trailer on the island highway near Parksville? Saw some pics and I think he is a member here. Scary stuff.
Got a Pic from a friend from that accident...I believe the trailer broke and the boat went surfing wiith half the trailer attached...... could have turned out bad.....
Glad nobody was hurt other than the boat and perhaps a bit of a bruised ego.
On a side note with the looming "bacon crisis" that is being reported on the news....looking at the 3rd picture; TheRock.. where did your buddy pick up bacon at 2 for $4??
He's on the site I believe. I just want to know what happened in hopes to avoid it. I can't picture what happened as its on a straightaway near the bottom of a hill. You would think the boats weight would keep it on the bunks.
Many things could have happened but not being tied down during an event leads to another unwanted event. Normally the weight of the boat keeps it on the trailer but panic stops sudden lane changes, or severe bumps change that.
If the winch stand broke on the average boats I see being trailered around, the rear tie downs would not stop the boat from moving forward.
The tie downs go off the back of the boats and then under to the trailer......there's lots of room for forward motion there...even if the tie-downs are cinched up good.
