Not really we are still fishing.

The new paper that Raincoast has helped publish on Orca extinction isn't getting much traction, and they didn't get what they wanted with the new fishing restrictions. I suspect that is where this coming from. The restrictions with whales were announced some time ago by DFO already, so it's painfully obvious there is some NGO involvement in the story/poll. It's nothing new.

The stupid thing about that poll it is one person can literally make 3-5 votes logging on with different devices.

Voted. Sadly, I no longer consider CHEK a "news" station. In my opinion they are a glorified advertising agency. I feel the new "whale watching" segment exposed even more of their bias.

CHEK 6 is far from a “news’ station ,couldn’t be farther from it. They have never reported 2 sides to any story. Interesting that Stacy Ross is often fishing off of Sooke with her husband….

True they are informal biased survey's to a unknown, unrepresentative population that don't follow proper survey usage guidelines and rigor and as such have little impact or importance. They are more of a casual curiosity for folks who visit their web page.
