34" extends to 49". Has crack at edge of the plastic holder up to the screw. Have filled the crack with super glue and bound with 3-4 layers of tightly wound duct tape. In addition have just added a 316 stainless hose clamp and tightened it down hard. Have torqued the handle hard and nothing moves. This crack is a common problem with these extenders, but now fixed and solid as a rock. North Vancouver. Bob. cel: 604-805-4044. $25.

That’s a common problem. I replaced that aluminum tube with stainless

A single screw vs the handle torque is a poor design. Also a stainless steel screw in to an aluminum tube is a battery if gets wet with salt water. No corrosion on mine tho’. An added anti- torque preventer would be a ss hose clamp btwn the screw and edge of the plastic holder, really tightened.

Just added a 316 stainless hose clamp. I twisted the handle hard against the plastic tiller end....no movement at all.
