Good luck on that find. The Thunderjets with outboards are scooped in record time, most never even hit the open market. They usually end up going to family or friends. Word of mouth that one is going up for sale soon usually means ownership stays within a close circle. Good luck though.
Just a suggestion. There is no perfect boat out there so take one for a ride in some rough chop before paying the premium price. My buddy went to a 22' Thunderjet and ended up spending thousands of dollars on air ride seats because that boat pounded the fillings out of your teeth. Great boat for beaching and didn't have to worry about rubbing the dock but a terrible ride when the wind blew up.
It took a while and he found a 20' Tyee half hardtop in Victoria and she's a real beauty. Thanks for the leads and most of the ones posted were gone quick. He didn't waste any time on the one he found and pulled the trigger over the phone. he wants to get it shrink wrapped for the trip to Whitehorse so do any of you someone or somewhere that shrink wraps? Thanks in advance.
