Thrasher Rock

The weekend forecast was looking good until today, darn. Let's hope it changes again!

Remember, it's called "fishing," not "catching."

The wind gods look angry Saturday. :( I'm looking at Sunday for Thrasher. I'm not paying attention to rumours that the fish have moved on, I"ll have to see it for myself. Anyone else still thinking of going across?

I'm heading across, itching to get over there for a couple weeks, been getting screwed by the wind on the 1 day a week I get to fish.
Hopefully the wind will back off early enough so the waves can step down by first light Sunday...not so confident of this...might be a bit of a rodeo getting there.

If the fish are thinning out and with the unpredictable weather lets giddy-up, I'm going to ride those waves.I don't think I can get my wife to the ramp untill about 6:30 (MacDonald Beach). If its stupid water then we will run over to Bowen, like Grace or something. But they are predicting 10-15 on the Enviroment Canada and only 5 knots on the other sites. MacDonald Beach ramp is near the Airport and P.m. me if you have never been there. We should be a couple of miles out of North arm by 6:40 and Thrasher by 7:30. I will fish the same area we had luck the last time, look for white 20 footer with black top about 1.5 miles off the rock. I must go brine chovies now.

I have recieved 4 e-mails from guys backing out of Sunday. Looks like 15-20 knots now. I guess I will have to chicken out as well and save my fuel for another day. I did get a couple of reports, one boat has been working Porteau for the past couple of days with no luck and hard fishing due to wind. Another fellow was at Grace and waterfall today with no fish. Sorry guys maybe next week. :(

Has anyone fished Thrasher lately or heard about it? Or perhaps Grande?

Remember, it's called "fishing," not "catching."

I fished there Sat afternoon for my first time, managed to catch a nice 25 + marbled spring. Spent the night at Silva Bay and saw a few fish being cleaned.. sounds like local knowledge goes a long way here. The guy cleaning up was fishing deep.. Fished a little bit Sunday but no luck..

Thanks for the update gutchucker,I haven't fished there yet this season but the fishings getting too slow at the sandheads for me. Time to make a trip across for an overnighter.

Cheers
