Think before you post...

Sorry...I realize I am not a mod, but the SW forum has been going south the last six months or so. Some of you have driven some fantastic participants elsewhere. People are becoming far too critical. Most of us are not here for critique, nor to read it. We are here because we all have the same passion for fishing. Most ironically, the worst offenders imply the forum is going south and are ignorantly unaware they are driving people away themselves. Some basic forum 'netiquette':

1. Read way more than you post.

2. Personal differences should be handled through email or PM and not through posts displayed to everyone. Pissing matches make you look ridiculous.

3. Stay on topic.

4. Act in a give and take manner; help others as often as or more than you ask for help.

5. Do not use someone else’s thread for a private conversation.

6. Do not hate on newbies.

7. Do not use a forum to promote your product, service or business. (third party endorsements are great)

Are you kidding me? Should we all go take a course on what some here feel is the correct way to post? Maybe you might want to tell me what to post and when? Fine , I'm out of here and will not be posting again.

I don't mind threads that promote products , services or businesses (fishing related)......I like all the information I can get, all the time, from all around the B.C. coast and island, as well as points elsewhere. I look upon this site as the "Wiki" of B.C. fishing........but I think we all got an e-mail a couple of months ago from the mods on expected protocol and behaviour and it was duly noted. I don't see where we need a "non-mod" pulling rank on the community for some ambiguous reason. If a person leaves the site voluntarily...well...that's his choice, no-ones forcing him. There are threads here that are a bit long-winded......but no-one is forced to read them. They can pick and choose from dozens of good threads.

After reading the post by Xavier a couple of times, I didn't get the impression that he was kidding, and nor was your name mentioned, so I don't think that you should take his post personally. Life is too short to get all riled up about something so trivial. We all just need to go fishing and kill some FISH, (NOT each other:eek:).

JMO, not telling you what to do:p.

HAHA lol ---LIKE---

My apologies to anyone I offended. Just felt an indirect reality check was needed for the 1% on here that cause 99% of the problems. I don't believe it should always be up to the mods alone, who do an excellent job.
