Living proof that anchoring for halibut is dangerous, even if you think you know what you're doing. Although I believe the current anchor system most guys use here for hali is far safer than the fixed winch system employed in this incident.

sounds like it was retrieval that did them in which is totally different situation.. That's why we avoid that an use boat to lift anchor using the scotchman for lift.. Still scary.
