Good article. Thanks for posting. Growing up (80s) we had a 1956 Sportwin 10hp, that my grandpa bought new, that would cough, spit, growl and smoke. It didn't go less than 1/3WOT without stalling. Despite her flaws, she was a beaut and a treasured member of the family.

One thing they didn't mention is that Evinrude makes the best looking motors on the water these days. Man, those colours.

Something must have been wrong with it then, we had a and still do have a 10 hp Sportwin. Great motor we trolled for trout with it. Very fast motor, I love it. When I get the money or the dollar goes down, I’m going to restore it

It wasn't maintained very well. Dad was very ham fisted when it came to mechanical stuff
