Soooo, that’s the purpose of that clear lens in the oil filled hubs.

The hub cover is gone that’s the nut on the end of the spindle bearings are gone and material on the hub is missing and oblonged from wear surprised the wheels is still on the axle
I found that big nut laying against the window to check oil level one day after a service from the shop for inner seal
They weren’t very happy coming out for a service call lol
I sure was glad I have a habit of checking though out the day
The guy who taught me said “ every time you get out of the cab walk around and look for differences in the equipment”
My hub window was looking foamy and had a big nut laying against it
Boy was I glad for my habit
