Last week I was out for just an evening and I picked up fish amongst the whales at the usual spots - Flower, Double Bay, Doneagle, Mitchell Bay.
4-6" Nickle/Blue as well as green/white spoons seemed to be the ticket for both coho and chinook. Depth didnt seem to matter - 20-80ft deep.
Pinks where very bity - every second fish was a pink. Depth didn't seem to matter - 20-80ft deep. Got an oversize chinook at sundown at 33ft in Mitchell Bay to end my evening.
Lots of orca and humpbacks in blackfish down to CP.
I've done some heli flights for work this week, and not seeing much of a mid-week fleet on the backside of Malcolm, but a few boats off the usual spots - Malcolm, Bere, Lizard and Doneagle points. Guessing that after the 17th when the regs change, there will be more boats for the last two busy weekends of the season.
