telegraph cove

thanks for the bear photos Wolf, kinda sick to see these tourist bears shot like that. what a waste of a awesome bear which probably could have been enjoyed by so many more guests and guides, sure hope you enjoyed showing it off.

haha CS. Oh well. The city boys can blow off some steam...everyone is allowed an opinion. And a tourist bear? This one was shot a damn long ways away from Glendale...where I got this there are 0 tourists, only logging camps and guide outfitters for grizz. People begin to assume and actually know nothing on the subject. Oh well. "Blow away a bear that didn't stand a chance" Alright buddy...you clearly don't hunt! Like I said above here powder...long ways away from Glendale...this guy wouldn't of been enjoyed by many...if any. I wouldn't go round shooting up "tourist bears" around Glendale...and I don't know many hunters that would. I just posted the pics for those who hunt to see...not to offend anyone...sorry if I did.

As for going up to Glendale in a 17.5...that can be dangerous...Knight Inlet is famous for blowing up in the afternoon and it gets rough as hell. So I wouldn't suggest it...but if you do be safe about it.

Thanks serenegeti thats what i figured cant just turn and run back in when its a 96km trip. Oh well more fishing. Congrats on the leh im sure more than a few applied for that one!

Kelly all the years I have been there just watch the forecast and you will be fine tides are a big thing if you have an outflow with a westerly now thats just plain nasty.

Been there done it many many times my back still hurts LOL. when you do come back really hug the shore line as it is damn deep, there is no reefs that are really going to reach up and bite you we would run 10 ft from shore most times on the north side of knight bad spots are from Sallie to hoeya but that tight into shore you can really boogie we used to use 17 ft double eagles with 60 hp on them just go slow it has been done !!!!!

Good luck wolf

p.s. ill be up there this year from late june and ALL of july but ill be down at craycroft island looking forward to it!!!!!!

Kelly also forgot to tell you if a westerly does kick up and you are up in the upper inlet (glacier bay etc)there is certain spots that will get windy like the north side of what they call the ahnuhati pt and the river that is there (by the way good river to fish for trout and steelies)what happens alot in there is the wind will"bounce"off the mountains and create wind in totally different directions and you can be fooled (never happened to me)LOL LOL.

What we did when it was really rough you can go on either side on the inlet depending on the wind if it was a NW wind we would huge the side hoaya is on.
If it blew SW we would go the siwash side there is lots of little pts that stick out on both sides as you hug the shore line it really breaks the wind for you once you get to protection pt its clear sailing.
Then you are on your trek home you can dodge it by turning into minstral island (lagoon cove)to gas up.

There is 3 different ways to get back to telegraph most of them go down CLIO CHANNEL which goes into baronet passage along west craycroft it is always calm this way, just past walden island is (where the lodge I work is at)keep going and your at the point to where Johnston strait starts home free to tele.

Enjoy yourself you will not be dissapointed if you make it up there one of the most beutiful places you will ever see.

Good luck Wolf

Thanks for the info wolf really want to see a coastal grizz but dont wanna buck up 200$ per person to go see them with the tours. Well play it by ear when we head up. Probaly will depend on how the fishing is up there at that time what we do. Never fished the area so dont want to push it.
