Ha, you are going to be in the heart of good fishing! Nootka. Load that little rig with safety gear and you are in for quite a summer. Play safe.

I'll be in the area surfing and fishing a bit this summer.

Where are you going to be working, Matt? Tahsis, Esperanza - some of the best fishing on the West Coast. John at Westview Marina should be able to provide you with good fishing direction.

i start working up there july 1 and some what through september

FishonJohn owns Westview marina in tahsis and is a very knowledgeable and helpful guy. Good fisherman and really knows the area and will share.

Sounds like you are headed for some of the best fishing on the Coast I55, congrats on the job in the sportfishing industry

In my experience the prawning in this area can be quite good, but in areas where there are lots of sea otters the crab numbers can be low.
