Stuck, really stuck

Take a can of air... The kind they sell for cleaning electronics and such, turn it upside down and give the ferrule a good spray. Some VERY cold liquid will come out. Give the ferrule a good spray. Then pull it apart by using the hands behind the knees technique. I keep a can of this stuff in my truck and have unstuck many expensive fly rods this way. I even unstuck an old Peetz rod that belonged to my grandfather and it was stuck together for the last 45 years.

The beauty of this is that it leaves no moisture, it is near instantaneous, and you can do it anywhere.

Well l was unable to get anything here in CR, but a quick search on the internet came up with Custom Rod Builders in Victoria ( Andy). Sent him an e-mail and the ferrule arrived today. It is a perfect fit. Now I have a new interest --- rod building. We will see how that goes. Thanks for all the advice, some great ideas out there.
