caught a late teen in my truck.. slammed the door closed with him in it... got on my phone as he is yellin , " please dont call the cops!!" my calm reply was," no cops, i am calling you an ambulance, he locked himself in my truck until the cops showed up.

Sucks to loses stuff.
But we were all dumb kids at some point, probably did something we shouldn't have done...glad no one gave me brain damage with a bat.
If it was an adult...take a finger or a hand...boat gear isn't cheap!

My earlier post is an example. I was very close to getting handcuffed. Good luck you touch them or assault them you will be the one in jail... Go and see what happens when someone shoplifts you can't even touch them. Thieves have a lot rights.

AUGUSTA, Ga. - A U.S. Marine reservist collecting toys for children was stabbed when he helped stop a suspected shoplifter in eastern Georgia.
Best Buy sales manager Orvin Smith told The Augusta Chronicle that man was seen on surveillance cameras Friday putting a laptop under his jacket at the Augusta store.
When confronted, the man became irate, knocked down an employee, pulled a knife and ran toward the door. Outside were four Marines collecting toys for the service branch's "Toys For Tots" program.
Smith said the Marines stopped the man, but he stabbed one of them, <nobr>Cpl. Phillip</nobr> Duggan, in the back. The cut did not appear to be severe.
The suspect was transported to the local hospital with two broken arms, a broken leg, possible broken ribs, assorted lacerations and bruises he obtained when he fell trying to run after stabbing the Marine.
The suspect, whose name was not released, was held until police arrived. The Richmond County Sheriff's office said it is investigating

Thieves will most likely scope your stuff before hitting you. Consider installing one of these in or around the boat to be alerted of any unwanted visitors

lol.. I thought of that but im not out to build a bait boat..just going to keep everything locked..saw an old guy walkin up the street yesterday pushing a shoppin cart full of junk.. I was sitting in the boat getting my weather report on the VHF when he started to walk up the driveway towards the boat..he saw me n turned back..could he be the thief? maybe, certainly looked like he was coming back for the second trap... crazy part is if that homeless guy asked me for a trap I would have gladly given it to him...thought that was kinda odd....life goes on... new traps all rigged...

I guess it all depends on where you live. Here in Vancouver, I NEVER leave anything out. Everything gets locked up inthe garage every time regardless. My yard gates are locked, I have an alarm system and everything is hidden from site. Diligence and awareness are foremost. I have worked too hard to have lazy useless asshats decide that they deserve my stuff more than I do.......
