Stomach Contents

1. A full Ratfish in a 10 lb Sablefish this week.
2. Half digested 6 lb pink in a 13-14 lb Ling (this is very common).
3. Juvenile Wolf Eel in a June Chinook.
4. Piling worms stuffed in a 23 lb March Chinook. This was an odd one as Herring were everywhere but the Chinook were all shallow feeding on these spawning worms in the tideline.
5. Sand Dabs in a late season Coho.

Interesting, as my biggest spring took a hootchie/sandworm combination. It also was a white spring.

I can’t imagine anything thinking a ratfish would make a good meal.

No pics, as it was pre cellphone days. Big Halibut had circle shapes popped out of it's hide, with a few still hanging on. Skipper said it was big squid or an Octopus. Stomach had some small mostly digested tentacles, and 5 BIG beaks that looked like Octopus to me. All I know for sure is, I've seen the beak from a 9' Octopus, an these were the same size. I would've liked to have seen those battles!
