Wow, that’s late in the season for themPost up your gut contents photos here.
Put a fish tale with it. Ling contents and large Cabazon welcome.
This was mid day at Whittlestone, trolling the basement with white hootchies.
One day your Mrs. will learn that flip flops are indispensable. EwA couple of weeks ago this 76 cm ling coughed up a mostly digested octopus when it hit the deck. I had a 3 and 5 year old on board and also had a spring cough up a couple of small baitfish so they both got their first food chain lesson. Lol
The pic also shows why a washdown system is indispensable.

3 herring & likely 1 juvie Chinook (but could also be coho). Typically, juvie Chinook are larger than coho juvies, and they like areas with high current off points. Coho juvies like less, more gentle currents and are often found on the inside of kelp beds and in coves verses off points. That smolt looks a bit big for coho - and most outmigrated juvie coho in SBC are 1 YOs and more like 55-65 mm FL when you find them; while juvie Chinook are more like 65-90 mm FL when you find them. From a coho near Bowen at the end of June. Juvenile salmon on the right, not sure what species.
