A ladys boat was stolen and ransacked, then beached at the lagoon on tuesday night. some gear and 2 electric downriggers were stolen. They were caught on tape with a security camera. Suspects are a early 20's male and early 20's female. if anyone has any info on this they can talk to mike at the marina.

Just trying to get the word out. She was able to retrieve her boat thanks to some great help from Mike the marina owner.

Great job Mike!!

Wow, I'm sorry to hear that. Hits real close to home. Thats where I always launch from.... I hope they find the people who did that. And I was thinking about keeping my boat in the water there in August. What can a guy do to stop that from happening?

And remember....Keep your tip up!!!

oh that's great, so now I have to think about lugging my gear back forth from my boat every time I fish because of thieves [xx(]

Time for a locking gate!

I found an infrared motion detector with a loud 120db siren online. Wires into your 12v or has it's own battery. Mount it in an area where it can see someone stepping onto your boat but doesn't pick up movement from the boat rocking (e.g. in the cuddy). Screams for 15 minutes and resets itself.

I'm sure the neighbors will love that when a bird lands or flys by! but really what else can you do?

Yeah, you've got to position it so that it can't see outside. I've got it positioned by my feet at the helm station.

Glad to hear they got them on the security camera. Wonder if they'd let us publish the video on YouTube so we all know who to watch for.

Thanks to all that helped us get our boat back...but mostly to Mike and the guys at the Marina...wow what a great bunch! They were with us or on the phone for the better part of 12 hrs on Wed. As for what you should do...man that is a hard one..we had it locked up and secured but locks are only good for honest people. We will not do anything different. The creeps had an agenda that is for sure! I hope that with the film the police will be able to make an arrest...as for us..new down riggers and some TLC in the cuddy (they ripped out a lot of the panels for what reason only they know) I hope Mike will get permission to post their pictures in the office if not at least the cars... but we will be on the water this weekend...hope to see you all out there. :)

wow, i am amazed that you can be so sincere and honest, and not in a fit of rage. i dont think i could let somthing like that just slide. But good on ya! the springs are out there, got a nice one at the trap a few hours ago! and a bunch of cohos!

Good luck,

-Steve
