Squid in Finlayson Arm

I’m wondering if anyone knows anything about squid fishing in Finlayson Arm? I know 30 years ago you used to be able to jig squid in January at Goldstream Boathouse. I ask because 2 x this week Risso Dolphin's have been at the head of Finlayson arm. Risso s eat squid.
How can we jig if Boathouse is off limits.? Anyone tried under the Bamberton lights? Thx

Interesting. I don't know anything about squid, but you reminded me of an encounter some 50 years ago fishing out of Hall's Boathouse. A huge herd of what we thought were pilot whales working along the Malahat side near what we called the "Stone House". Use to be some pretty good salmon fishing there.

I'd love to get into some squid fishing around here. Something I've never done before.

Can you not reach the Boathouse area by boat to jig for squid?
