Heads Up to anyone seeking these tickets: Get your butt in gear if you want to collect any!

There was a line-up at Gone Fishing here in Port to buy these.
They have been doing a VERY steady sales of these all morning.
Staff suggested it will not be long before they are SOLD OUT!

Thought I'd let you all know...

Cheers

Got mine Monday morning before the rush started - sort of. They were already about 50% sold by 11. Now it gets real...count down on days to get the boat ready to splash begins now.

I read this is the fastest they’ve sold out.

A buddy got tickets for him and I early Monday morning

We are planning to stay up at Eagle Nook for the derby, heading in Friday for a pre-derby fish to scout around. Fingers crossed for good weather and fishing. Eagle Nook is getting pretty booked up, if anyone is looking for accommodations/food its $225/night which also includes your fish processing & boat moorage at resort.

with the derby being as popular as it is, i am just asking out-loud and maybe missing the obvious, "why are more tickets not sold"?

not enough 6lbers to go around? lol

Hey Blair , i have worked with the Organizers for several years now , Don , the father (passed 2 years ago) , did this for fun , never in a million years did he think this would be so succesful , all this time and work is all volunteerd by so many of us , all proceeds are spent on prizes , We have all been lucky to have his daughter Kaitlyn, keep this tradition on the rails , all out of her good heart !! , we THANK her , at 500 tickets, its crazy as it is , have you seen how many boats show up for the weigh in ? not sure we could accomodate any more boats , double and tripple rafted at times , it is what it is , wont get any bigger ,we hope she does this for many years to come , always a blast , brings the community together , pumps up the upcoming season , see ya all soon
good luck everyone

( 6 lbers ? your fishing in the wrong spot lol , plenty of fish came in between 10-17 lbs ;), the most fished weighed in last year in years !!! ) )

I don't wish to derail this thread. If you have questions about why these types of events do what they do you should get involved first, that will answer your questions. These events, fundraisers, are run by volunteers putting in hundreds of hours trying do do their best for salmon and letting you have fun.
Sorry, I'm tired of listening to arm chair managers.
