Thought I'd start a new thread for a good friend of mine , I have offered to tow him and his guest from Van to Clutsei , I think it would be much easier for him to run up on his newer 21 Trophy up the Canal , leave his trailer in PA , rather than beat the crap out of his rig on the Bam 500 to P Nook , what are you all doin , are ya runnin up the Canal or traileri'n , Has any one been runnin the Canal lately, he is concerned about the Off Season Winds on the way back Sunday afternoon , we won't at Clutsei til 11 am Thursday Morning , I think if he takes his time , he will be fine , Good Luck to all of you . well be on ch 6,,, " Little Ducker "

Your thoughts may help him , once he reads this.

Thanks

I'd be way more worried about hitting logs while running up the canal than about wind. Last year around this time I ran into two medium sized sticks with two people on watch. Keep your eyes peeled, and take it slow!

Just got back...wholly crap is there a lot of S$#t in the canal...had to stop a few times to troll through the debris. Super high tides with the full moon have caused a lot of stuff to float off the beach and start swirling around the canal....so be careful.

Having said that, I would take the canal any day before trailering a boat down the road...if you can call it a road.

So, just go slow (not over 30 KTS) and back off when you see a tide line full of crap.

Good luck to you boys...I have to go work the Tradex Show....I'll be thinking of all the fun I'm missing.

Tight lines.:D:D

We are going to head up the canal on Friday after lunch sometime, if anyone wants to convoy-up let me know and we can meet at the dock.

Towed my 21' Trophy last year to the Poet Nook last year and will never do it again. The time it takes and the beating the trailer and boat takes is NOT worth it. Run the canal.

Still debating on heading up for the derby but depends on weather/wind and if my rig gets out of the shop in time. Dying to try out my new Airmar TM270W transducer (1KW and 25 degree at both 50 and 200 KHZ) that is also also being installed.

Who will have fuel available and hours they will be open? My only concern is ruuning the canal back to Port on Sunday afternoon. Any idea if China Creek is open as will probally launch from there?
